Horse Brain, Human Brain with Janet L Jones PhD

Course

Dr Janet Jones is a Horse and Human Trainer who wrote the groundbreaking book ‘Horse Brain, Human Brain’.
After a lifetime riding and training horses and a professional career as a tenured professor teaching the neuroscience of human perception, language, memory and thought to college students, her own brain injury taught her how love for horses and knowledge of the brain could help other humans understand horses better.

“One of the biggest problems I see when working with folks and their horses is that the vast majority of people have been trained to always look for the bad things their horses do. Because they’re always looking for the bad, they easily overlook the little tries and sometimes have trouble seeing the good in their horse, even when the good jumps up and bites them in the butt.”

“I was drawn to horses as if they were magnets. It was in my blood. I must have inherited from my grandfather a genetic proclivity toward the equine species. Perhaps there’s a quirk in the DNA that makes horse people different from everyone else, that instantly divides humanity into those who love horses and the others, who simply don’t know.”
